NEW Product Release: Industry’s Lowest Power Magnetic Sensor/Switch

Coto Technology has announced the release of its new RedRock® RR123-1H02-612 magnetic sensor/switch. This cutting-edge sensor/switch is engineered to meet the demanding requirements of magnetic sensing use cases including magnetically operated power switching and proximity sensing for medical, industrial and consumer applications such as wearable medical devices, asset trackers, utility meters or any battery operated device requiring low power magnetic sensing.

The RedRock® RR123-1H02-612 is optimized for magnetically operated power switching of lower power devices such as continuous glucose monitors, asset trackers and other battery operated devices where traditional power switching control methods – such as manual power switches and wireless controlled switching – are not feasible.

Key advantages of the RR123-1H02-612 magnetic sensor/switch include:

• Extremely low power consumption: The RR123 consumes only 20nA of average power consumption making it the lowest power magnetic sensor/switch in the industry.
• Operating voltage range: The RR123 supports an operating voltage range of 1.0 to 3.6V suitable for battery operated applications.
• Efficient power switching: The RR123 can efficiently source up to 20mA of current by way of an Rds(on) of 5 Ohms.
• Output latching: The application may latch the current output state, typically high, to ensure that once the magnetic field is removed driving the output high that another magnetic source cannot inadvertently cause the output to go low thereby losing power to the application circuit.
• Very high magnetic sensitivity: The sensor operates with a magnetic flux density of only 7 gauss enabling the use of small and low cost magnets.
• Small package size: The RR123 comes in an LGA-4 package with dimensions of 1.45mm x 1.45mm x 0.436mm suitable for space constrained applications.
